「모두가 잠든 시간」 ABSCENT, 프래그런스 스토리텔링, 2019

'모두가 잠든 시간'은 하루의 소음이 잦아든 뒤, 혼자만의 고요한 순간에서 시작된 프래그런스 비주얼 프로젝트입니다. 찬 공기가 머무는 계절ㅡ 책상 앞에 앉아 타닥타닥 소리를 내며 타들어가는 양초의 불빛을 바라보고 떠오르는 생각을 적다가 책장을 넘기거나 잠시 창밖으로 시선을 돌립니다. 아무 말 없이 머물러도 괜찮은 시간입니다.

이 작업은 그런 밤의 공기와 감각을 향으로 풀어내고 다시 이미지로 옮기는 과정으로 이루어졌습니다. 마음을 차분하게 가라앉히는 사이프러스와 페퍼민트, 따뜻한 결을 지닌 시나몬 바크, 그리고 프랑킨센스와 바닐라가 이어지며 스모키 우디의 잔향을 남깁니다. 특히 시나몬 바크의 따뜻한 성질은 차가운 계절에 가까워질수록 선명하게 다가옵니다. 향이 머무는 순간의 온도와 정서를 시각적으로 담아내고자 했습니다.

「When Everyone Is Asleep」 ABSCENT, Fragrance Storytelling, 2019

When Everyone Is Asleep is a fragrance visual project that began in a quiet moment alone, after the noise of the day had faded. In a season when cold air lingers, it is the kind of time spent sitting at a desk, watching a candle burn with a soft crackle, writing down passing thoughts, turning the pages of a book, or briefly looking out the window. It is a time when it feels all right to remain without saying anything.

This work unfolds by translating the air and sensations of such a night into scent, and then into images. Cypress and peppermint calm the mind, while cinnamon bark adds a warm texture. Frankincense and vanilla follow, leaving a smoky woody afterscent. The warmth of cinnamon bark becomes especially clear as the season grows colder. Through this work, I wanted to visually capture the temperature and mood of a moment where scent quietly lingers.
