「The Path Where Water Passes」Daily Memo Series Vol. 2, Independent Publication, 2020
These notes were compiled from entries written between May and August 2019.
「Checking In」
The man sitting across from me was already ordering his second iced coffee. I wondered if he could really sleep well at night after drinking coffee like that. When he asked how I had been, I didn’t know how to begin answering. I blinked several times and said nothing, and no answer came back. (p. 34)
「An Excuse」
Sitting by the bus window, I pushed the window open, and the wind rushed in sharply. My hair flew in the wind. Summer. The early evening sky felt like dawn. I wanted to find a little strength. (p. 43)
「Daily Tasks」
Washing my face with cold water. Running the washing machine. Sweeping the room and wiping the desk. Heating water for tea late at night. Cutting and filing my nails. Turning off the light and falling asleep. Taking a long walk. Blinking my eyes. Breathing. Living. Going on living. (p. 51)
「Rest」
There are things that cannot be resisted or turned back. If I leave regret unattended, it will grow thicker day by day, like weeds. I thought it would be better to cut them away and let my body and mind follow the current. There are times when a vow or a decision is needed, but for now, I want to let things flow and go wherever time takes me. (p. 58)
